Dear MB. What in the world has happened to this storied auto manufacture ? I just got a brand new CL 500 sport and before I could get the smile off my face : Broken driving lamp, air condition not working twice , problem at this point not solved. console creaks and rattles, pass. window shreaks, navagation doesnt even tell you the street names. This is the most disappointing purchase I have ever made. Then again what do you expect for $102,000.000? Vin # wdbpj75jx3a03XXXX. I truely wish I never walked into the dealer. The worst car I ever owned!

CL500. One day after taking delivery the drivers side door trim at top of door popped up after two clips gave way. The instrument cluster segments did not work correctly, the passenger seat belt not working correctly. I waited several months before taking the car in. As expected these days, the service experience was a joke, beginning with a total imbecile of a service advisor. Nobody follows up, spent time tracking down the Service manager, total waste. This will be my LAST Mercedes after a lifetime of MB exposure. Very sad that this once great marque is trying to live on that 3-pointed star legacy. If I wanted General Motors quality in a car, I'd have saved myself 80k and bought a GM car. At least my expectations would have been low.

Have mid-2000 delivery CL500 -- dark turquoise with oyster and chestnut - gorgeous.  Now have just over 30K miles.  Problem saga:  recall on alternator before I even picked up the car; driver's side shoulder belt made loud rachety sound, had to disassemble seat totally to replace roll-up mechanism; steering rack leaked; ABC unit leaked at one wheel and was replaced; passenger door was mounted recessed a bit and leading edge scraped rear lip of fender -- door remounted; phantom warning that a turn signal was burned out, finally fixed; sound on COMAND went out --replaced; rear window shade fell off top bar, had to be replaced; driver's side window lost a clip and wouldn't roll all the way up; both rear windows' motors and regulators have been replaced; window molding around both sides replaced due to slight misalignment of frameless windows that would chronically hit and crimp them, only worsening the problem; trunk spring fatugued to where trunk lid would barely stay open -- twice; CD often mysteriously starts over when starting car back up, instead of picking up where it left off last time car was on.  Oh, and one honest to goodness problem I couldn't complain about and which should have been the ONLY problem in this $95K car with 30,300 miles -- a parking light recently burned out!!

I have a new CL500 and now have a minor problem.  The rear view mirror seems to have a mind of its own.  Whenever I press the memory button to adjust the seat to my setting, the mirror shifts to the right and down.  No matter how many times I adjust it to where I want it.  Autohouse, in Pompano beach Florida first replaced the entire mirror unit, then on the second trip replaced a memory chip.  When I picked up the car, it was the same, except now, every time I put my key in the ignition, the mirror shifts.  Wierd.  Going back for a third time.  So I called MBUSA 800# and the rep's attitude was that he could care less.  I told him that I have 2 Benz's and have had 2 for over 25 years getting new ones every 3 years.  He still could care less and said this problem should be taken up with the dealer.  They don't get involved.  WHAT AN ATTITUDE!  My wife's car will be 3 years old next year and time for a new one.  I am thinking, not MB.

Bought a beautiful looking pre owned CL 600 with Lorinser Package and just out of time warranty. Within 5 minutes of aquisition of the car(literally) the driver power door console blew to the cost of $4000. Six months later the ABC became defective, and the car was at the dealer for 2.5 months, racking up a $12k bill. What a nightmare. Had BMW's before, and I bought a new one to regain the smile on my face. I will NEVER return to MB again as they are technological nightmares. Beauty only goes so deep...

I have had my tire pressure monitoring system replaced multiple times on my CL500 (2001). It is now out of warranty and failed again. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO HAVE MBUSA ASCERTAIN THE SCOPE OF THIS PROBLEM (LIKE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THAT FAILED AND WAS FINALLY RECALLED)...AND TO ISSUE A RECALL NOTICE.

Finally pulled the trigger and purchased my "dream car" - a 2006 CL500 - brand new at a North County San Diego MB dealer - I've done business with this delaer before and they have a great service reputation. This is my 2nd MBZ - my first is a 2006 E350 which is now sub-leased to a friend - and after 25,000 miles it is trouble free - but let's get back to my "Dream Car" - which 6 weeks after delivery and ay 1,700 milesw did not start one Friday morning - so a call to Road Assistance and 45 minutes later a new battery in a car bulit 10 months before. Fast forward to Friday, Feb. 23rd, 2007 at 2:45 pm - try to leave work in my "Dream Car" and car totally dead - then call to Service Director - who personally drives down with tech - to jump start car and take back to dealership - again the dealer is great - BUT - now I want to return this car - to have electrical problems in an 8 week - 105k car is unacceptable - I'm asking for a buyback - complete refund - and I want to elase the new CLS550 -

And - yes I'd like you to forward this to a Lemon Law attorney in the event that Merceds tries to blow me off.

Again - the dealer is great

Purchased a certified used CL600 in what appeared to be pristine condition. While I have had the car it has been in for service approximately 20 full days (oil leaks requiring complete engine breakdown 4 times), window motor repair, fuel tank sensor replacement, etc.

Well, this is an unusual opportunity. To be perfectly honest, my CL 2004 has been a great car. However, starting with this summer I am beginning to wonder about the ethics of the manufacturer and dealer. My car is 3.5 years old. This summer I received notice that my Mercedes installed phone was analog and would not operate in the digital world. The assumption here is that Mercedes did not recognize that the world was going and was digital. So I went to the dealer, who tried to stick me with a Blue Tooth adapter by charging me $300. more than was listed on the web-site. So along comes the Tele Aid announcement that it is all analog and that on the 31st of December, 2007 that the analog system would no longer work, but lucky me, for $1500. plus labor I can replace the system that Mercedes installed in my car and it will work very well. I suspect that Ernst Lieb and others at Mercedes should be aware that these issues are the fiber of class action law suits. Please do not tell me that the Government made us do it, so we had no choice. This is a bad party line.

I own a 2003 CL55 AMG with only 18,458 miles, no damage of any kind and the electrical system has failed for the very same reason 3 times since I took delivery in 2006. Today on the 3rd failure, the system fully failed; ABS, ESP, DIST, Battery, all dash lights and exterior lights, transmission stuck in 1st gear and no wipers while I was driving in the rain. Today is 12/18 and the warranty fully expires on 12/21, so I made it just under the wire. The issue now is - "what will MB do to support me as a customer" if the very same failure occurs again, since they have fixed it 3 times while under warranty in just one year. Sad, very sad.

I purchased my Cl500, in may of 2006 and have had nothing but problems. I guess what upsets me the most was the way I was treated when purchasing the vehicle and how that A+ treatment has declined after numerous trips to the dealership. After just having my vehicle for three days I woke up to find my CL500 actually on the ground. I was told my ABC had a leak and there was a recall, and they will fix no problem. They has since attempted to fix my vehicle 8 times with no improvement to the ABC system. While sitting at a traffic light the system finally exploded. A black liquid leaked from the under carriage of my car. I had to be towed home. Upon car review from my MB dealership I was told my car is now out of warrenty and i would have to pay 1,500.00 for the car to be fixed properly and that they can't guarentee that it wont happen again. I will never purchased a MB again. I would expect more from purchasing a certified MB from a top MB dealership.
